Who is the summer school aimed at?

The EMME Summer School is aimed at middle profile staff of existing science centres/museums and newcomers from other organizations (universities, local authorities, associations etc.) who want to establish new activities in the field of science communication or to develop new science centres.

The EMME Summer School aims to give professional skills and expertise for the management of science centres and museums and related activities. Future leaders in this field should have the competencies to run such organizations, looking at the impact on the local communities, taking into consideration the framework of public policies and in collaboration with private and public stakeholders. They should be able to conduct or to superintend different kind of activities engaging the public in science and technology, such as science exhibitions, science festivals, school programs, etc.

The objective of the training program is to give participants a strong set of competencies and methodologies that they will be able to adapt afterwards, depending on the size of the institution, type and scope of the organization and projects.
